Market Outlook – 05/03/18 – Brandon Van Zee
Today, the S&P 500® fell by 0.23%, but closed well off the low. Despite the calm end result, the market actually had a larger price range from high to low than average. The intermediate line dropped and moved the posture to bearish. That venerable index has been touching the 200 day moving average recently. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was the only index that closed higher today. Unlike other indices, the NASDAQ® is now showing a bullish posture. The United Kingdom appears to be one of the stronger international markets over the last 3 months, and Australia is trying to reverse its downtrend with a series of higher highs and higher lows.
