• The S&P 500® finished lower by 0.31% but produced a long lower shadow on its candle today, which indicates buyers supported the market into the close
• All four major U.S. equity indices now have a bearish intermediate posture according to the Market Forecast technical indicator
• The Dow Jones Industrial Average produced a phantom green arrow on the Stochastic indicator today, but the other three major indices have “3 Red Arrows” signals
• While all four major U.S. equity indices have their 10 week moving averages currently above their 40 week moving averages, the price of the Dow Jones is now trading below its 10 week moving average
• The VIX hit a new 3 month high on an intraday basis, but ended up closing a tad lower despite the stock market also falling
• Long-term U.S. Government bonds and gold both have bullish intermediate postures on the Market Forecast due to their “safe haven” status during chaotic markets
• Stocks in Brazil now have a bullish intermediate posture but the price trend leaves a lot to be desired; the Chinese stock market fell strongly and is now at its lowest level in 3 months due to deteriorating trade talks with the U.S.
• The Financials are the only U.S. sector that has a bullish intermediate posture; the Real Estate sector was the only one that finished in the green today
