Two Decades of Teaching Investors
David began his investor-education career in 2004 with Investools, the former education affiliate of TD Ameritrade and thinkorswim. He coached hundreds of investors through one-on-one sessions, group webinars, live workshops, and large-scale investor education conferences.
At TD Ameritrade, David also developed online courses for stock and options investors. He served as the lead subject matter expert for the Weekly Options and Advanced Options Strategies courses and helped shape the company’s online Community and Market Commentary strategies.

Turning Market Evidence Into Perspective
David’s expertise includes technical analysis and options strategies ranging from long calls and puts to vertical spreads and advanced multi-leg positions. He is the originator of the popular Market Forecast daily YouTube video and now serves as the host and lead analyst for Market Outlook.
Through Market Outlook, David applies a disciplined technical-analysis process to explain what is driving the market, which evidence matters, how conflicting signals fit together, and what investors should watch next.
David is a CMT charterholder through the CMT Association. He brings his experience in analysis, education, course development, and investor coaching to Market Scholars, where he works with Brandon Van Zee to help investors approach the financial markets with greater knowledge and discipline.
Away From the Markets
Family, Basketball & the Outdoors
David enjoys spending time with his wife and their four sons. A self-described hoops junkie, he has spent years coaching youth basketball and putting his sons through workouts on the court. He and his wife also enjoy traveling—from the world’s great cities to the mountains and national parks of their home state of Utah.
