KeymasterMarket Scholars,
With a month before we end our discounted offer and start your subscriptions, I’d love to see what benefit you’ve received from your early access over the past few months.
Why has it been worth it for you to subscribe early and get the one-year discount?

MemberUh duh because I got access to the great teaching you and Brandon provide sooner rather than later. You do know we were all in SERIOUS David and Brandon withdrawl, right?
What you provide isn’t “one and done” teaching. It is real time mentoring, discussing the events of the day/week/month/year, giving us perspective that you aren’t going to find in main stream media or most brokerage-sponsored classes. The fact that you no longer are under the influence of a brokerage gives your teaching even more credibility as there isn’t that brokerage appearance of lack of independence/self-interest.
No doubt getting the one-year discount sweetened the pot and gave me motivation to jump sooner rather than later. I had looked into subscribing to another IT coach earlier but his fees were too steep for me, so the discount definitely helped. But even with a discount, there are very few former coaches I would have paid to follow.
I have no doubt that the information I received from you and Brandon over the last couple of months has benefitted my stock purchases. For example, I have developed a personal methodology I use during Brandon’s Thursday DGI classes using the information he presents as well as other research available to me. It’s a habit now. Well, a couple of weeks ago there was some dynamic market action. At first I was flustered, but then the habits instilled during Brandon’s class kicked in and I was able to calmly make a similar real-time analysis. It enabled me to take control of a situation that felt out-of-control. I doubt that day would have gone so smoothly had I not taken advantage of early enrollment.
I have no doubt that your mentorship will be critical during the next big downturn, which will happen sooner or later. I’m sure glad we had benefit of your calm instruction during the mini-corrections of the last couple of months.
Keep up the great work!

MemberThe biggest benefit has been the deep dive into the “why”. Great explanations of the intricate relationships among oscillators + other indicators and how they work together to help the trader execute a particular strategy. “Former Employer” content shied away from such deep background for the most part in favor of simply covering the recipe book repetitively (trading rules) and trades, and I find I learn more by understanding how the underlying math works and what it means at a high level… but in simple terms. Like when David explains the relationship between the 17 and 8 day moving averages in the MACD.
Second huge benefit has been the charting code and advanced charting feature you’ve provided.
I do hope that when Market Scholars gets out of beta that some documents focusing on the process will become available. For example, trading rules templates — one comprehensive document covering the Market Forecast’s many different entry scenarios, interim trade management possibilities and exit rules. Fellow students provide a lot of this scattered about in forums…but it would be good to have a central repository of the checklists one needs to follow for successfully implementing Market Forecast and 3 Green Arrows strategies covered in such in depth fashion. Also, Documents that show sample allocations…for example – in the portion of the portfolio dedicated to active trading – what are the suggested %’s for directional swing trades vs. inventory. Not looking for allocation advice, just samples of the way one might allocate within a particular segments of the portfolio. More advanced than the basic bonds vs. stocks and 20% options pablem. More specific.
so in a nutshell – sample trading plans for the major strategies, sample risk management examples, sample detailed portfolio segmentation. Make it advanced and challenging like you’ve made the classes. Example, your risk management scenarios would include key ratios…like what percentage of undefined risk trades should the inventory portion of the portfolio be limited to, theta to delta ratios, exiting credit spreds when trade loss matches initial credit received, how to use the forecast tool to be consistent with option rolls and managing portfolio risk (Take have the stock position off in the event of a cluster, for example).
Hope this feedback helps.

MemberIt’s been amazing.
All my life, only used mutual funds or ETFs.
Two years ago, went to a seminar by “a major broker”, learned about TOS and three arrows, lost a bunch of money then stabilized. Then last year they pulled the 3-arrow screener and I was desperate (also, I cannot survive in retirement without investment income). Then came Market Scholars (triumphant music). Made 4% on DGI in two months – hope this continues!!!! Of course I already recouped my investment – even before the official start date – amazing!
I dial into some of the other classes but they are way over my head.I really love how you guys teach us ever so patiently, and give us fantastic tools and the benefit of your expertise – all this without sounding like a self-important guru.
Now I want to learn about options (covered calls) but like some other scholars I will need a lot of hand-holding. Best for me would be a class which starts at level zero and gives simplistic recipes (stock choice, when to buy, optimum strike price… and what to do if anything before expiration). Then once we get this basic method, start explaining possible variants. I’d like to place my first option trade sometime this Fall).

MemberI’m with Dana about being in Brandon and David withdrawal. That certainly had something to do with it. And the discount was a part of it, too. Mostly, I needed help in the NOW, and the early start was an great opportunity. So far, I’m just trying to get properly invested in DGI stocks. When I’m comfortable there, am looking forward to diving into Technical Analysis and some Trend Trading.
I also GREATLY appreciate being able to direct my questions to the class. There is very little I need to know, at this stage, that Brandon himself needs to answer. He’s covering what’s happening, “today”. If I had to research it all, alone, I’d never get there. The teaching style works for me.
Oh… and the recordings are invaluable, since I have to work most days and cannot attend all of the classes, in real time. Brandon and David are sincere, sometimes funny (yes, you have both made me laugh), and great teachers! The early start was an opportunity. Many thanks -

MemberThank you David for all your hard work. Really appreciate your classes, website and community. Really enjoyed our experience with Market Scholars. Great Job!!! Also Totally agreed with Dana and Pam, Jean and Dianna. I can’t say it any better than you guys. 🙂 Love this awesome community!
Early access helped because I have been followed Coach BVZ for over 3 years and he is by far the most dedicated Coach Richard and I have ever had. After he left the former employer, I know for sure there was no one else can teach DGI better than he did. He not only talked the talks. He also walked the walks with us. In addition, He taught and coached us to be Dividend Growth Investors / business owners. Therefore we can invest in high quality companies and SWAN ( sleep well at night ) while one of my portfolio was making over an unbelievable 37% gain in both year 2016 and 2017.
Therefore it’s really a no brainer for us to sign up early access and get extra one year and 3 months of awesome teaching for free. What a great deal!!! Thank you both David and Brandon for your generosity!!! This is the BEST financial investment EVER! 🙂

MemberAside from the financial benefits, it has been great getting in on the early explanations of how the courses will evolve and how indicators are read and decisions are made. I still have an account with the previous employer and expect to continue it, but I spend much more ‘education’ time on MS vs TDA because MS, to me, goes into more of the ‘why’ of the indicators, charts and trading strategies. This works better for the future.
I also really appreciate the new charts, scans, improvements, etc. created by Brandon, Clarence, Marcia, Kirti, Joe and others. They make the trends, searches, breakouts, reversals, etc. come alive and give us all a better chance to have success in the market.

MemberEarly access has helped forge a warm, supportive community led by two dedicated coaches. In addition, ideas are a dime a dozen, but not the ones presented by Brandon and David. With 8 unique classes, I’m finding ample, actionable trade ideas. Sometimes there are votes as to which trade to take, and sometimes there are multiple trades. I will put on trades whether or not they won the vote and will use whatever strategy works for me, and the coaches are always supportive. They are both experienced and approachable, clearly caring for their students to both learn and make money.
Looking forward to the live launch and educational additions! -

MemberI can’t add to everything that has already been said! Well worth every penny spent.
I knew I’d enhance my education with David and Brandon. Early access has given me a chance to learn more in a few months than I ever anticipated – and watch as other Market Scholars, with their areas of expertise far exceeding mine, made suggestions that were implemented. Kudos to David and Brandon for being open to suggestions and the best to your business going forward. Kudos also go to all Market Scholars who have been so generous with sharing their expertise to help shape Market Scholars into a premier learning environment.

MemberBy joining Early Access, I got the benefit of helping Market Scholars start an exciting new business with the potential to deliver tremendous value to me. I immediately became part of a community of investors who are positive and open to sharing experiences and ideas. Early Access also provided a unique opportunity to help shape Market Scholars, which repeatedly reached out to the community and was responsive to our suggestions. At the same time, Early Access provided key insights into the thinking of the creators, David and Brandon, which helped me better understand their orientation to investing. It also provided me with an opportunity to reconsider my own approach to investing, and how to become a better investor in the future. The charting tools have been excellent; the analysis of the market has been first-rate; and I’m now using Value Line more productively thanks to helpful instructions, plus I have online access through my local library thanks to the exchange of ideas by the community. The early enrollment discount was welcoming as well, and by committing to several years of service I reaffirmed my commitment to becoming a better investor.

MemberFirst of all, I got exposure to you guys briefly while you were working with ‘your previous employer’. Thought you guys were awesome then, and still think that now… even more so now 🙂
I’ve read a good handful of books about economics, trading, and investing over the years. So I’ve already got a general, foundational knowledge on the subject matter. It’s the application that can be more tricky of course. Things always look great in retro-spect with textbook trade examples. However, being able to effectively trade isn’t always as easy. It takes real experience.
I figured Coach DS and Coach BVZ are about the best mentors I could find out there. I appreciate their honest approach to the markets. Not every trade is going to be a winner. So spending some time focused on trade management and reacting to losing positions is vital and realistic. Proper risk management is, of course, essential. And teaching everything through an organized, easy-to-understand, top-down approach makes everything comprehensive and just fantastic. Then there’s all the Market Scholars members coming together to accomplish a common goal… Knowledge, Application, Community, great core values, guys! You really nailed it!
Each of the subjects and trading styles covered are very interesting to me. I try to watch every video, and I feel they are all very important to receiving a well-rounded trading education. I figured a $2000 premium membership divided by 36 months of content amounted to $55.56 per month. I’m sure investing that much into my personal education will be money well-spent and will pay for itself.
A few classes I might be interested in seeing later: 1) futures and forex trading, 2) filing taxes properly and trading in such a way to minimize taxes. Of course, I realize you’re not tax advisors or anything, but maybe you know a thing or two on those subjects as well. Although, I know you guys are starting a business here and are probably swamped at the moment, so no worries. Just my two cents to add to your brainstorming board.
Hope it helps! Many thanks!

MemberThere have been many benefits of joining early. Seeing the process unfold, helping shape the community (when I am able to make it to classes live), and saving money on great training. As all value investors would say – Buy when there is a discount. Well, getting almost a year and a half free on a high quality product is a great discount.
I think the better question is – “What are the benefits of being a Market Scholar? The answer to that is simple and complex at the same time. I was a former Student of the company that Brandon and David worked at for almost 10 years. I had some exposure to both of them until I went to an investor conference and saw both of them speak almost a year ago. I was amazed at what I was able to learn in just a couple of hour or hour and a half sessions. I had a chance to meet David walking from the hotel to the conference on the last day and we talked for the entire walk (probably 10 minutes). He was as interested in talking about me and my goals as I was talking to him and getting to know a little more about his story.
When I found out that they were starting a company together, I was very intrigued at the possibility and potential. I checked out the website and started watching the Market Outlook videos. Then I got the offer to join and be a Market Scholar (which I have always believed myself to be) at a discounted rate. I love everything from the name of the company (we are all learning together) to the mission of Brandon and David, to the high quality education.
This community is also a great asset for this company. Just follow one of the classes and you will get everything from comedy, to stories about people’s problems and joys, to really smart investors. You can also Join one of the local Market Scholars groups and meet the folks you hear from every day if you choose to.
The education is top notch. If I’m being honest, this is really the only reason I am a Market Scholar. Learning how these two very different people have joined forces to create a unique experience for customers. David has a driving need for everyone to understand not only what he is seeing in the markets, but also exactly why he is seeing things the way he does. Brandon has the type of personality that just wants his students to understand and succeed. He feels personally responsible for all of his students’ understanding of the content he is presenting.
Each class is structured to teach about a specific type of investing, but the entire trading room style education works together in a way that allows me to structure my portfolio in a way that includes almost all of the classes. They call it Market Scholars for a reason. Each of us has something nobody else in the community does. Our unique perspective and a brain which is absolutely required to succeed. Everyone comes in at their own level and can learn at least one thing every class. If you have never traded a stock before, you may learn something on basic fundamental or technical analysis that I either forgot about or never properly learned. That could make you a more successful investor than I could be because of a bad habit I picked up years ago. If you have been trading for 30 years, you may finally learn how to use a technical indicator that is effective, but hardly ever used because of its obscurity or difficulty to understand.
The bottom line is there are a lot of very good educators out there. Brandon and David would both agree that there are many, many good resources for investors and that Market Scholars should not be your sole source for news and information. They study them all, read their blogs, websites, Twitter accounts, and probably even subscribe to paid newsletters from the absolute best in the business. They take all of the information they learn, add their unique perspective on the Markets and bring it all to us at least twice per day.
I am excited to be a Market Scholar, excited about the prospects of what will come next, and look forward to the next 20 or 30 years with these two education professionals. Try it. As many others have commented, you will make your money back. But more importantly – You will become free to either fire or at least challenge your financial advisor. You will learn how to incorporate your 401k or other retirement accounts into your personal accounts and make them all work together. And you will understand more than you ever thought you could about studying industries and companies.

For me the results tell the tale. My momentum growth portfolio is up over 25% so far this year. Brandon and David are a source of really good ideas and rules to follow. The new charts are a great tool. I would like more input on how to use them and it is coming through with every session. -

MemberFirst thing is I have never started a company or been a part of this process in my previous professional life (other than listening to owners express there hopes and dreams and work to design a building/space for them to best accomplish this). So the biggest thing for me in the Beta period is feeling apart of this adventure for the two coaches. It is exciting and rewarding to take this journey on your guys pathway to fulfill your dreams. I like being part of the community of believers in you two, your style of teaching, and commitment to our education, trading growth and confidence.
I was waiting for Market Scholars to move forward and it was an easy choice financially to commit with nothing more than who was teaching. The Beta period discount was a true bonus. Your reminders that this is a “BETA period” and calming expectations and gracefully guiding and explaining that you are just in the developmental phase, have given great thought to what you want to achieve in the teachings, and remembering that you are fulfilling many new roles(IT support, broadcasting, teachers, chart updater/developer, business co-owner, accountant, and future content developer).
I enjoy how you each place teasers into your Market Outlook broadcasts outlining the advantages of joining Market Scholars without giving anything of significance away, while respecting and honoring the MS community and the value of the content you have developed. (So add another duty; salesman)
I’m so happy you saw the ship was sinking and looked at each other and said, “I like the way you put your everything into rowing”. Lets see if we can work on building a much more efficient ship. The Beta period fills your boat with supporters and believers, which are here to help, answer questions as more join the ship, populate forums, develop Think Script, and generally provide a really close community of investors looking to grow.
I look forward to July 1 to when certain restrictions might come off and to the official first year and all the new ideas and plans you have for us can go forward. It is truly my honor to work under your guys wealth of trading knowledge. Your calm and steady input, as well as, analysis of the markets which represent my primary means of living into my financial future, is reassuring that I have you guys with me.
Thanks

MemberAmazing & true comments have already been made by MS community. I will just say that many of us investors with the “former employer” were truly excited that You, Dave, & Brandon chose to branch out on your own. It’s the right move, selfishly, for me! It was only natural for me to sign up immediately. Having attended both your classes since 2012-4, I know you both to be honest, authentic & excellent coaches, who know their trades with profundity & are willing to share their in-depth knowledge. Of course, the bonus year plus some were just the icing on your affordable pricing! I have been fairly successful in most of my investments, but always am also mindful of risks & market down turns. You both continue to teach me in each & every class that I attend. Thank you, thank you, Thank you, Dave & Brandon, & I wish you both more success with each passing year.

MemberThis was not Early Access but continued inspiration from your hard work. First became a big fan of your tutelage and methods of teaching as a student at your previous employer. Early access has facilitated a level of confidence that you are sincere in your efforts and the herculean amounts of dedicated time shows in both quality and content you have provided. It also fuels my expectations to remain as a steadfast student.
You say you gave early access but you had a built out schedule close to day one. Early access coupled with the discount provides a value to us, your students, so that it motivates us to not just learn but give back or help in any way to sustain your success in both quality and content.

MemberBeing a member of the market scholars community has been one of the best investment decisions of my life. Not only have I learned to trade successfully since I’ve been following Brandon Van Zee and David Settle, but I also find that the investing education they both offer is among the best you can find in the investing education arena. Their knowledge, professionalism, dedication and even their wonderful personalities keeps me engaged and committed to learn more every day.
Signing up early and receiving a year of free education has been an amazing opportunity that has allowed me to witness the highest level of their commitment to create something unique.
I would encourage anyone who is serious about their investment education and financial future to join Market Scholars. -

ModeratorDavid,
As I posted on twitter last week:
“This content is such a wonderful change from ‘your former employer’ and is, I believe, the reason that @Market_Scholars will be wildly successful. Hearing your personal story and knowing your expressed opinions are unencumbered by enforced corporate nuance and fear of brokerage regulators is SO refreshing. This is all the better because of your understanding and acceptance of a wide range of opinions and is capped off by your excellent knowledge base and superb teaching skills.”
I have an equally profound respect for Brandon’s teaching skills and his unyielding quest for excellence in everything he does with Market Scholars. His continued active research in value and dividend growth investments is the perfect complement to your technical analysis skills. I was in at the “PhD” level with your former employer, but my money has gone much farther here.
Thanks Again!

MemberI agree with everything that each person above has shared. So what more can I say, except that I was in a rut with the unnamed “former employer” and I wasn’t getting anywhere with my investing. I did well if it was an uptrend, but didn’t know what to do with anything else. I was being taught the same narrow thing over and over and over. It seemed like I was just churning my account. It became clear that since I was depending on my small account to carry me thru retirement, I better do something. Then I found Market Scholars. I have learned an amazing amount in just 3 short months. I was introduced to DGI and wow what a light bulb moment. I now see how I might be able to enhance my retirement. And David, I also learned that I really did not have a good foundation in options and was maybe guessing instead of making smart moves. I found that I really need to go back and learn much more about options before I try to make beaucoup money with them. I truly appreciate the thorough explanations and most of all helping me to understand when to use certain strategies and why. I have far to go, but am now not so panicked and desperate that I do foolish things. Most of all, I am learning how to proportion my account to accomplish multiple goals. I am beginning to put together an overall plan that will work for me. I am so happy that you are showing normal every day investing and not just the flashy trades that make a bunch but I don’t understand how to do them. I say Hurrah for both you and BVZ – you are just what I needed – a reasoned, practical approach to investing with all the education to support it. Thank you! I can’t wait for the investing plans, etc. The charts are amazing….as are the two of you. Thank you for your vision of what trading education should be. I feel you are offering a well rounded complete education, although I could use something in between the basic option class of options for long term traders and the straddle/strangle type trade. I do well with structured checklists/plans to help me realize whether my planned trade is good or bad – how do I find the trades is often a problem for me. I also really appreciate you working so hard to keep the classes on track and not wandering off into the weeds with unrelated questions being asked by students. You have so much to offer that I know the classes could be hours long – each of them. But, I can only take in so much at one time and absorb it, so I appreciate trying to keep the classes no more than 90 minutes each. That way, I might be able to keep up. I too appreciate the friendships I have made already at MS and the fun we have learning with you, although I find the community posts overwhelming to keep up on. Okay, I guess I can’t learn EVERYTHING at ONCE. In the clinical laboratory where I spent 40 years we have occasion to use an acronym TNTC. It means “too numerous to count” and the things I have learned here are already TNTC. Well, I didn’t plan on writing a book, but I guess I did.

MemberI have to agree with all the previous comments. I was becoming very unhappy with Brandon and David’s former company (through no fault of their own) and was struggling. Once I heard they started a new company, I immediately jumped on board because they were so instrumental in my becoming a good investor/trader. Brandon’s knowledge of dividend growth investing is second to none.
The charting tools they have provided are amazing. So much information in an easy to understand layout.
The classes provide a wealth of information and there is enough variety to provide something for everyone.
I am proud to get in on the ground floor of what I know will be a wildly successful business. I can’t wait to tell people, “I knew them when…” -

MemberBrandon Van Zee and David Settle were my go-to guys at Investools. So I was disappointed when Investools imploded, as many others have noted.
I was delighted to find you resurrected, smaller and better than before. I learned a lot at Investools, but there was always an arms-length distance on how to trade and I never really “got-it.” You can talk hypothetically about trading, but at least I couldn’t learn it without doing it. Could that distance have been the shroud of compliance? I was never profitable in my options trading. I read a ton of books too, and none of them helped my trading either.
Now, with the steady dose of classes and the Q&A’s I do think I’m getting a feel for trading. I have to be careful what I say, ’cause I don’t want to jinx myself, but I’ve been profitable over the last few months. I’ve felt like a genius several times before, only to be profoundly disabused of that notion in short order. But this feels different. A lot of that turnaround is due to the insights I’ve gleaned from David & Brandon. I never finish a class or Q&A where I don’t learn something important that will help me in my trading.
So keep up the good work, guys. I’d be getting excellent value for a full price subscription, the discount was pure gravy.

MemberEarly access gave us the chance to see what y’all would be offering and the formats for the classes and Q&A sessions. Since we were familiar with both of you and your methods of interacting with the participants we believed that we could make a financial commitment early.
The courses and Q&A sessions have been great and the community is beginning to develop. We look forward to being a part of the “real thing” in the near future.
Best wishes to both of you and we hope that your new business will be successful.

MemberThe previous comments are spot on. David and Brandon can take somewhat complex issues and break them down into understandable components for their followers.
My successful trades have improved, however more importantly, my understanding of risk has begun to replace focus on rewards. The past three months have exceeded my expectations when I joined Market Scholars.
I look forward to the first conference in Las Vegas to meet the mentors in person.

MemberI wasn’t sure what to expect when your Former Employer changed its business plan. It sounded good — no-fee education and more kinds of classes. But had my doubts. I never believed you get anything for free, especially from the internet and from the financial services industry.
After the changeover, the difference between presenting information and teaching became very clear. Teaching means taking deep dives, even at risk of getting off schedule. Teaching means taking ongoing feedback from the audience to ensure that the audience keeps up. Teaching means talking to people, not Avatars. Teaching means having a vision, not just “some investors do this, some investors do that.” Teaching means revisiting concepts time after time to make sure they are seen from many directions, not giving a scattershot from of all different possibilities. Teaching means showing how a system work and letting the audience judge how well it functions, not just listing all the possible systems in the investing universe.
So that’s it — it was clear that you guys could teach, and I missed teaching, so I jumped in.
I agree that the Beta has had its fits and starts. The website is pretty rough; the lack of courses to provide a baseline of info for the community is not ideal. But hey, you said it was Beta, so it’s OK. That is the value of teaching. -

MemberThe main reason I joined Market Scholars is due the oustanding community David and Brandon have created through the years. I feel very comfortable with everyone involved. There teaching and knowledge of the subject being presented is very professional and easy to interpret.
As others have mentioned, I was also so disapointed when I found out that David & BVZs “Other Employer” was going to close and re-structure. I felt betrayed.
A few months had passed and I found out the good news that Brandon & David where going to start there own business. My first thought was “How & when can I sign up”. Hands down, this has been the best investment Ive made all year.

MemberAppreciate the quick ramp-up during early access, to what has turned into a daily dose (and them some) of DS and BVZ. Our fellow students leverage the learnings in each class. BVZ and DS, you are outstanding teachers! We think that you have hit a “Home run” with the early access: we have been able to re-coup our initial investment in Market Scholars, and then some! We really like the MS Charting system, too. Keep up the good work.
Unfortunately, we have not been one to do much in the Blogs or Forums. Neither Wendy or have ever been active in those areas in the past. Who knows what the future will bring with regards to our participation there.

ModeratorEarly access has given me 10-20 hours a week of learning investing and trading. Besides the great coaching, chatting with fellow students has really helped me gain confidence in how to trade. Up to now purely an investor with a few short term trades. I am learning how to trade and manage options. So many trading ideas. Money well spent on my education!!! All ready paid for the course with my profits but more importantly I am a a better educated investor building a portfolio that I can leave my children and help them become better investors also.
Followed BVZ and DS at previous employers and so glad they took this giant step forward!!! -

MemberFor me, the early access has been beneficial in several ways. First, the validation and refinement of my technical analysis of the market price action by hearing Dave and Brandon’s analysis during the correction in February through May was invaluable and gave me much more confidence in how to handle my own positions. Second, the trades offered during many of the classes were trades I was not considering and offset the cost of MS subscription already. Third, I really appreciate the deep dive into many of the oscillators and how to allocate a portfolio going forward. Fourth, I now am much more confident in using the three Market Forecast lines and Market Sentiment lines to determine my market posture, complimenting my prior knowledge in the 3 Green Arrow method. Fifth, I enjoy hearing other ideas from the MS community.

MemberIn my case I was not a student of David and Brandon before the creation of Market Scholars, but joining this community early and at a discount was a great decision.
During my working days (I am now blissfully retired) I saved and invested through company tax qualified plans, stock options, and profit sharing programs. My wife did the same. We also had investment accounts funded by profits from ventures, and just plain savings. All of these funds were allocated to a relatively few investing options in their accounts, but over the years they steadily grew.
These funds are now in brokerage accounts. Our options were to hire someone to manage them, or to manage them ourselves. Market Scholars is the perfect solution. We get great conservative advice. In classes we are introduced to a variety of strategies like Dividend Growth Investing, Options for Long Term Investors, Portfolio Management with ETFs, Technical Analysis, and Sector Based Trend Trading. The site provides classes and community interaction that really benefit our portfolio.
David and Brandon are consistent with solid ideas, daily review of the markets, and in the classes we review past trades and positions. Market Scholars is the answer for managing our hard earned savings.

MemberHey Coaches (ie.Mentors)
I really appreciate all the prep you both put in for our classes.
That is the main reason for joining because it shows how much you care for our successes.
I do not begrudge any funding that we do, it is worth it even without the major discount!
Marrying the coaching from Doug Eatough for PM with what ya’ll present gives a terrific oversight for me.
I am also a student at OTA with Core Strategy and ProActive Investing courses.
With these combinations, I feel confident it sticking to my rules. Although, sometimes, I cheat (bad me)
So far, since 2009, my accounts have grown exceptionally well and I thank you both.
Again, thank you for being you!
Best Regards,
W Pupa -

MemberMy investing experience has been paying for newsletters and following their recommendations … reading articles online and following those recommendations … and when the market goes SOUTH I sell as close to the BOTTOM as I can! I have had no confidence or understanding in my investment decisions.
Now I only focus on the concepts and training provided with Market Scholars and enjoy using a “paper money” account to apply my learning into practice.
Market Scholars provides OUTSTANDING education on investment analysis/execution strategies so that I can make good decisions in my “paper money” investment purchases then use with my “real money” – which is still a LONELY experience. My FAVORITE experience with Market Scholars is through opportunities of group decision selection of stocks that are analyzed by the group. Instead of looking at companies alone, I now have the privilege of working with other Market Scholars online and together we come up with buy decisions to consider for our “paper money” accounts.
A new experience that I am now enjoying is also investing with the SWAN concept. SWAN (Sleep Well At Night) – also known as DGI (Dividend Growth Investing) is investing in quality companies that have historically provided good dividends and increasing dividend growth.
Markets will go UP and DOWN and Market Scholars is helping me understand the drivers that investors are sing in their investment decision process. It does NOT mean that my investment account will SOAR in a down market .. but it prepares me to have confidence to take the needed action when needed!

MemberI became a member of Market Scholars because I am familiar with your training and market wraps back during the Investools days. I really appreciate the information and training that you guys offer, so when you started Market Scholars I was more than willing to jump on board and become a member. Thank you for all of your efforts in putting out a high quality product. I will probably become a life-time member !

I was bullish during the downturn and was happy to heat DS was the same throughout. Confirmation helps. BVZ is one of the most knowledgeable and capable presenters that I have ever seen.
Keep doing an awesome job!

MemberEarly access? It helped cure my David and Brandon withdrawal! It’s the first investment to make!
It took a while to find the coaches I respected and whose strategy I was able to execute. Now I find that with Market Scholars, they soar having been released from prior “shackles.”
The format is especially helpful. I can quickly see the “trade” area, build what I would do, then listen to the recording to see how close I am to the class vote or coach’s idea.
I’d love to listen live – but except for vacation – am working — which is why on a Saturday night, I am typing away. That said, Market Scholars is the “first investment” I have encouraged others to consider – especially if you can listen live.
I also appreciate the community. The shared charts are especially valuable and I know several contributed. The Top Down tool that a couple of the group publish weekly helped during the pre-beta time frame.

MemberWow, there are so many wonderful posts regarding to this subject. It is not easy to even add any additional. But this is my take. It is no brainer to see the first announcement from Market Scholars early March this year that Brandon and David were opening the door for Beta period MarketScholars Educational company with discounted offer tuition. We would of pay the already good price of their education cost, but the discount was the bonus. We have followed Brandon for two years prior to this announcement. How much we had missed the weekly education classes from Brandon when IT closed door. This is the God Sent that Brandon and David join together to open this education company. We can continue following the best teacher of Growth Dividend Investing Guru, Brandon, at same time can learn how to trade from David. They use Webex system on their online teaching which is so much clean, readable, and audible than those free online webcast out there who use YouTube version that often difficult to read. I guess, we pay for what we get! Another most noticeable differences from the MarketScholars from others are not only we are getting smart, knowledge, caring teachers who themselves are an investor, and a trader, they have created many good tools for us to use on daily basis… In addition, many of students have been followed Brandon and David over 4 years, they themselves are already great investors, and traders, but continue following Brandon and David, because they want to be the part of the community sharing what they know, and learning from other fellow students. We feel that we are already friends and know each other for years, even we never met! It has been a great journey for us, and appreciate that we are the part of this adventure, and community.
Yesterday, we were at Investing Fundamental workshop, people asked where can we go after this workshop to learn more investing. I told several people who sat around me about the MarketScholars and gave them the website, and told them that they can read more detail about MarketScholars that has to offer, and get free Market Outlook. We are all in together to learn, share each other our knowledge for years to come.

MemberI encountered Brandon when i joined Investools in the middle of 2016, I learned from Brandon how to wisely research and select stocks for dividend income. I then learned about selecting trending stocks through his Trend Trading course. Brandon’s insights into dividend-paying and trending stocks are invaluable. The termination of Investools meant the end of coursework in income investing and Brandon’s style of Trend Trading (which is very successful). During the interval between Investools termination and Market Scholars Beta startup, I felt lost. I still needed guidance. Signing up during the discount period was a no-brainer. Signing up early has given me the opportunity to immediately learn Technical Analysis from David. David teaches Technical Analysis from a practical standpoint, and he is an excellent instructor. I now listen to his Market Outlook videos with a greater understanding. I am so happy that Brandon and David formed this company to continue educating investors.
The subscription fee is much less than the costs of mistakes I would have made without Market Scholars.

MemberIn summary, you guys rock! Your enthusiasm on the various investing topics is readily apparent and comes through in your classroom delivery. I was a prior student for more than a year at TDA so this wasn’t a surprise to me. You’ve already exceeded my expectations regarding new ideas and investing approaches.
I appreciate your efforts of late regarding time management for the class sessions. I suggest focusing on the housekeeping material (this can sometimes take 20-30 minutes to cover) and finding creative ways to bring new attendees up-to-speed. Related to this topic, I would be very interested in an Options for Beginners class. It’s tough to understand the concepts being discussed.
Thanks for all your efforts!

MemberThe question “Why” came up recently asking why should anyone subscribe to Market Scholars?
The answer to that question probably has as many answers as there are people answering it. My answer starts some time in 2012 when I subscribed to the now defunct Investools to learn how to invest. My very first instructor was David Settle who introduced this sub-neophyte to the world of technical analyses (I just found my notes dated 4/16/2013 on David’s presentation on Relative Strength). My head swirled as I learned from David and other instructors I reached out to that the Investools system exposed us to more analysis tools than I could count on the fingers and toes of my wife, eight grand kids, and myself of course – but there was no clear path of which ones to use and for which strategies.
Then around early 2014 along came Brandon Van Zee an evangelist of Dividend Growth Investing and of Top Down Analysis, and who had a major following. There was structure in what he taught, specific analysis tools were used (some of which he personally developed), a team spirit existed among the students, and the team’s paper money account was extremely successful. There was nothing to not like, he had the right groove for me and I jumped in.
In late 2017 Investools disappears and Dave Settle and Brandon Van Zee combine their extensive skills and form the Market Scholars. The student team from the former company rejoices, it was like a family reunited. New tools are developed, every week the coach and students analyze stocks and vote on one stock to add to the teams paper money account. The paper money account is doing well.
So that is my “Why”. As long as there is always something new to learn, I can’t see myself ever being without Dave and Brandon

MemberWhen I heard of Brandon and David providing early access to their new education service, MarketScholars, I jumped right on it and glad I did! Brandon has taught me so much over the years and my portfolio performance has never been better. When he left his former employer, I really missed his teaching and interaction. Now, I get my daily dose of Brandon and he continues to enlighten me and helps me maintain unemotional successful investing. As a result, I have outperformed the market in the past few months and sleep well at night knowing I have High Quality Investments in companies that I fully understand based on Brandon’s deep dive analysis done in class together with student’s input and class vote for the best trade to add to our class portfolio! I feel more confident with the unbiased information and trades being shared by MarketScholars knowing they don’t get paid by a brokerage firm but by us, students, at a very reasonable price (especially with the early signup bonus).
I would also add that having access to Brandon’s Special TOS charts (“pictures tell a thousand words”) alone is worth the cost of admission for me.
Between Brandon and David’s classes, there is an investment strategy(s) for everyone whether Dividend Growth Investing, Trend Trading, Selling Options for Income, Advanced Option, Technical Analysis. And if this isn’t enough, both Brandon and David hold weekly Live Q&A sessions where they thoroughly address all levels of student questions including Saturday morning. During this trial period, they have tailored the content of their courses based on feedback I and other students have provided. MarketScholars Listen and Respond unlike other companies who ask for feedback and you feel like you wasted your time.
Great Investment!

MemberBottom Line: Exceptional value for investors and/or traders at a 33% discount on a 3 year subscription will be the best ROI trading education you will ever get.
You’ve read our personal experiences with David and Brandon – their competence evaluating current market conditions and various trading strategies. The integrity of these two gentlemen is so refreshing in this industry. Add to that their exceptional teaching skills and customer focus. Now add to that many new charting features, scans and watch lists that support their education topics. Now add to that an ever improving web site supporting their resources, classes and archives. Last, but not least, is an active, supportive client community.
This is a focused, rich investment environment to support your return objectives. And, they will help you keep your sanity during those challenging market moves.
Personally, my trading experience had not meet my expectations prior to discovering Brandon and David at Investools. Then, changes from TD Ameritrade’s acquisition of Investools “broke” my trading routine and education experience. So, I was exceptionally pleased to see these two form their own education company and signed up at the first opportunity. During this “beta” period they have far exceeded my expectations. Thank you, thank you, Brandon & David!
Come join us!

MemberA brief list of some reasons to subscribe to Market Scholars:
The two instructors are first rate and have deep knowledge in their fields of specialization.
Each instructor knows not only the theory of what they are teaching, but also how to put it into practice. This combination is not common.
The two instructors’ fields of specialization complement each other and produce a powerful combination covering both stock and options strategies. One instructor has deep knowledge of dividend growth investing (for a hopefully ever increasing dividend cash flow) and trend trading (both bullish and bearish) for, again hopefully, ever increasing capital gains. The other instructor has a wide and deep knowledge of options and how to use them for various purposes (cash flow, hedging positions, capital gains, etc.), as well as in different kinds of market conditions (bullish, bearish, sideways). He also has a deep knowledge of technical analysis and has the skills to teach that difficult subject. Both instructors have additional fields of specialization.
Each instructor is committed to teaching everyone in the class. They address the needs of students who are new to an area and touch on the nuances of difficult aspects of a trading approach to those with more experience. Some of the classes are geared to newer investors/traders, while others are geared to more advanced investors/traders.
There is an active community within Market Scholars. During a class a student may have a question but does not want to interrupt the instructor. The student can then ask their question in the chat area and other students are usually more than happy to answer while the class is being taught. This collective sharing of knowledge in itself is a powerful learning tool.
If you are familiar with David Settle’s and Brandon Van Zee’s Market Outlook, it is just the tip of the iceberg. Subscribers to Market Scholars have access to a great deal more analysis, strategies, and trade ideas. I believe the Market Outlook is a strong money making tool. Market Scholars is even more powerful.
Cost. I believe that Market Scholars is extremely fairly priced. The 33 1/3 percent discount prior to this July made subscribing a no-brainer for me. My profits have already exceeded my subscription cost (although individual mileage may vary). My hope is that Market Scholars will gain a wide following and that they will be able to keep their prices low.
In summary, I believe that this combination of instructors, classes, community, and cost makes it a very compelling choice.

MemberShort and simple, these coaches are the best of the best. Brandon is a natural communicator. He speaks in a language that you can understand completely and he does not get over-excited as we see with some coaches. He is a visual learner as you can see from the charts he has produced for us. His method of Dividend Growth Investing (DGI) has made me and other students who have been with him over the past few years a lot of money, particularly with a great market last year. If you do not want to watch the market constantly, this is the course for you. I particularly like his old Top Down Thermometer used to pick trending stocks and he now has enhances it for the new classes. Best of all, Brandon and David are family men and someone who I feel are my friends and I trust them. I like communicating with them on Twitter on a daily basis.
If you want options, rather than stocks, David is king of the mountain. He is near genius level when it comes to advanced options.
For sure, I have already paid for this course with just this beta version. It is a cheap price to pay for what get from it. I like it much better than the former employer.

MemberMarketScholars keeps getting Better even after the Early Access period!
The Sector Selector Graphic Tool that Brandon just released is packed full of easy to understandinformation and mega-useful! It highlights the Top Sectors based on 10 different metrics and then goes into a deeper dive showing the stocks within each sector hitting New Highs or New Lows and further classifies them as being in a Strong Industry Group and whether they have Growth, Income or Value Characteristics based on multiple criteria. To top it off, it shows whether any of the stocks have “Fresh” 3 Green Arrow Buy Signal.
This helps me plan my trades on the weekend.
There is an Amazing amount of Useful Information updated regularly on the MarketScholars site where you cannot get anywhere else-presented in an easy to use graphic format!-

MemberI had absolutely no skepticism when I first joined Market Scholars. It looked like a solid value add, with my novice investing experience, flexibility of offerings, and tools they provide. My approach was to be conservative with my quantity of $’s, but aggressive with what I was willing to invest in the market. Over time, Market Scholars has expanded my knowledge so much; From a variety of investing methods, to keeping my emotions in check, and applying my learnings and what the experts have taught and continue to teach me. This has significantly changed my original investing mind-set. In addition, one thing I never anticipated, was the growing confidence I’ve achieved that helps me remain calm under all market environments, and allows me to not only abandon my fear of the next bear market, but to look forward to that as a buying opportunity, because Market Scholars has enabled me to properly manage my total portfolio, and have the means to seize those opportunities! If you’re willing to spend a little time and like to learn, become a Market Scholar! Mark Olszewski
