David, I want to comment on your video today. I normally agree with you and still agree with you on your overall market thoughts. However, I want to call foul on extended discussion about large one day move and if people can benefit from it. This is a trick that many companies and investment advisors use to fool people into not managing their investments better and using advisors who normally just stick you in some program and don’t really manage it.
If you stayed in the market you rarely benefit from these large one day moves as the market moved back down again, in fact many of them are followed by larger moves downs. If you were out of the market you were probably out above the level, this one day move came up to, so you did not miss anything and when it moves down you still have chance to get at that level or lower.
The people that can really benefit from these large one day moves are option traders, which is what you push, so I think you can agree. It just irritates me how so many professional advisors talk about you don’t want to miss these one day moves and the largest 10 one day moves in history, but in reality it is a smoke screen. You need to either look at longer moves for long term traders or realize only short term traders benefit from these one day moves.
You do focus on long term returns also, so not in disagreement, just I call foul when people get talk about these largest 10 day up moves historically.
