This is from today’s WSJ, (4/13/18), next week should be very interesting, back on the roller coaster I think!
China Syndrome
While much of the world’s attention remains focused on the possibility of military action in Syria by the U.S. and its allies, the economic picture remains clouded by uncertainties about trade. The Journal reports today that the White House plans to increase pressure on China by threatening to block technology investment in the U.S. and focusing on new tariffs. As early as next week, it will name the products on the list of $100 billion in Chinese goods subject to 25% import tariffs. The initial $50 billion hit list spared some consumer staples, such as clothing, mobile phones and shoes, but trade experts say the sheer size of the expanded list makes the inclusion of consumer goods inevitable.
